Kool Deadwood Nites

Kool Deadwood Nites just took place this past weekend. I had never attended this event before, even tho i have wanted to.
We headed up to Deadwood on Saturday around noon. I was very impressed by the event. Of course i grew up around my brother fixing up old cars. Even owned my own '79 Trans Am in high school. I am just a fan of old muscle cars.
That night we headed back up to Deadwood. I was quickly disappointed. I have heard that they have a big concert on Main Street. But when i think of an event where they are bring all of these old cars into town. I want to see all of the cars 'dragging' main. The concert would be great somewhere else, but not on main.
Like i said before, i grow up around cars. I remember my dad and I taking my brothers Coupe and driving up and down Main Street in Mitchell playing oldies on the radio :) To this day, i am thankful my husband like old cars even though he is not big on my trans am's (because it is not a chevy) or the oldies music.
So i really like going to Kool Deadwood Nites, great idea! But wasn't impressed with the night life. Watch the movie American Graffiti and you will know what i am talking about :)

Break out of comfort zone

OK, so if you have read Mari Olson's column "Confidence is empowering, break out of comfort zone" (In the Daily Republic on July 3, 2008) This blog is kind of about her column. (If you haven't read it, i wish it was still up on their Web site so i could put a link to it. She talks about doing things by yourself; ie going to a movie by yourself.) But i think my story fits what she is trying to say :)

Mari, whom is one of my good friends, wrote about trying something new. I'm pretty sure she would try anything, well, as long as it wasn't illegal :) Me on the other hand, I like to keep things simple and say in my comfort zone.

This past weekend, my husband's work had a golf outing in Newell. I have never ever golf in my life. Well, besides miniature golfing in the Holiday Inn one night in Mitchell (and i was not any good at it!).

So, when my husband said he signed us up to golf, i was hoping he would change his mind. But he did, thank goodness.

We headed up to Newell that night and had a good time. And it turns out, i kind of liked to golf. Of course i don't know any of the rules, but I had fun.

So I took Mari's advice from her column and broke out of my comfort zone, and it was fun! (Way better then snowboarding for the first time)

I have posted a couple of photos that were taken from the night.

Jed's Senior Photos

Ok, so i just got back from doing Jed's senior photos. Taking the photos was a lot of fun today. We pretty much went all over the place. So I got to see somethings I have never seen before.

Jed's whole family helped out :) (it was nice meeting you all)

Here is your sneak peak ...

Sterling's Senior Photos

Sterling, Becky and I meet up yesterday to take care of his senior photos.
I was very excited to head to their farm and take some photos with his horse and dog. (you all were great to work with!)
