From Milltown to Ethan

A friend of mine, Thresha of Thresha Benson Photography, decided to take photos out in the country. We decided on meeting at my old grandparents farm and travel to Milltown. On the way down to Milltown my phone started to ring ... and really didn't stop. When i left Ethan, there was a strong storm that moved from Plankinton to Mount Vernon. So i figured we would be OK. Even though, i really like thunderstorms have been known to follow a couple that have great looking clouds, after all of the phone calls we left Milltown after about 20 minutes of shooting. Now, i really think we left at the right time. Being they were talking about a funnel cloud above Milltown.

Now, i did end up calling my parents to tell them i was on my way back. BUT i couldn't just drive home. I had to pull over after seeing the gorgeous clouds!

After finally getting home, i still wanted to take photos. So i went around the farm taking photos :)

I will be posting Milltown Part 2 soon. Thresha and I meet up again on Thursday to take more photos. If anyone is interested in taking photos with us next time, please let me know. Also, If you want to see Thresha photos, please click on the link above. She does a great job!

MILLTOWN

ON THE WAY HOME FROM MILLTOWN (ON HWY 44)

(I worked with this photo, above, a little in my photo editing program. The photo above it is what the sky looked like)
(One of my favorite sights i see is close to this photo. I love it when a storm passes or is about to pass and the sun is shining on the power line lines. The wire just lights up against the blue skies. This time, i had the sun to my back and the storm coming in, which really light up the polls.)

Ethan Parade

The Ethan Parade was held on Saturday on Ethan Main Street. My brother Rob is shown on the Oliver and my dad is on the little Allis.

Catching Up

This week is turning into my catch up week.
Last week, I spent the week at home at my parents home. Getting stuff ready for my parents rummage sale. Basically, I carried everything downstairs to be prices and then carried it out to the pole barn.
I ended up spending a lot of time at home. But i did end up going out with Thresha a couple of nights to take photos. The first night, we both had to cut the night 'SHORT'. With bad weather popping up, we left at the right time. The little town we were in, had a funnel forming somewhere near it.
Also, Saturday my family and I got to watch the Ethan parade. With my brother and my dad in it. My dad is so proud of his new little tractor, it's so cute!
I also got to spend some time with my niece. Which was great, being I don't get to see her as much as i would like to. Of course my sister had me change diapers.
Overall, i had a GREAT week/weekend. Though i wish it was so busy, i still really enjoyed it.

Where did the top go?

With all of the rain, and just plain cold and crappy weather. Bear Butte was a little hidden by clouds yesterday when we tried fishing :)

Weekend Photos

Just sharing a couple of photos from this weekend. :)

We had a storm roll in on Saturday night. At first i went out to Bear Butte Lake to see if i could get some lightning photos. But i didn't see any, until i was driving back into town. But i did take some photos of the sunset, with the storm rolling in (to the left).

On Sunday, we drove down to Galena. Which was a ghost town. To bad there are more newer houses compared to the old buildings.
